We were so excited to share that rehearsals were well and truly underway for the next Step by Step Together performance, Connect · Create · Thrive…

This performance art project was produced during River-Fringe, March 2024, and brought together Image Theatre, live music, and movement to explore our individual and collective perspectives on selected social, cultural, and environmental impacts.
Claire, Lori, and Sue-Ellen created this project to provide group members with the opportunity to explore an issue that mattered deeply to them. Through skill development in their chosen art forms, participants were supported to investigate how these impacts affected their own lives and the wider community.
Throughout the creative process, we facilitated the communication of each performer’s story, supporting their ability to express the emotions present. These individual narratives were then woven together into a coherent and engaging storyline for audiences to connect with and relate to.
The Project
Connect · Create · Thrive… was a family-friendly performance art experience that used Image Theatre, live music, and movement to reflect on what challenged, connected, and motivated us within our community.
Audiences were inspired by the performers’ powerful stories and witnessed their courage as they gave their all. In true Step by Step Together style, the project offered an immersive experience that left audiences feeling uplifted, energised, and connected.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals took place from early December through to March 2024, allowing performers the time and space to develop skills, build confidence, and deepen their connection to both their stories and one another.

Community Performance & Family Fun Day
The community joined us for a day of family fun at the Loxton Historical Village Family Fun Day, enjoying face painting, circus and dance workshops, while we performed sections of our new project, Connect · Create · Thrive….
We teamed up with Fit to Fly to provide a fun and inclusive day of entertainment, encouraging audience participation and inviting the community to actively engage with the creative experience rather than simply observe it.
Performance Dates
We were thrilled to share this work with our community across two performances at the Loxton Historical Village:
Saturday 9th March 2024Selected sections of the performance were shared as part of the Family Fun Day.
Saturday 16th March 2024 | 3:00pmThe full performance of Connect · Create · Thrive… was presented to the community.

We were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share this project with our community and thank everyone who attended, participated, and supported the performers throughout the journey. Connect · Create · Thrive… was a celebration of creativity, courage, and connection, and we were proud to bring these stories to life together.
