Our Creative Mission

What We Do

Step By Step Together is a non-profit organisation creating opportunities for artists and community members to connect, collaborate and grow through the performing arts. We believe creativity is essential to personal growth, wellbeing and community connection, and that everyone deserves the opportunity to express themselves artistically.

Our programs offer inclusive, accessible workshops, rehearsals and performance opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Through creative practice, authentic connection and cultural exploration, we support participants to develop skills, build confidence and better understand shared experiences and challenges.

We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where individuals can contribute to the social, physical and emotional wellbeing of themselves and others. By joining Step By Step Together, you become part of a creative community dedicated to producing meaningful, high-quality work that connects, communicates and benefits the wider Riverland community.

Weekly Classes

Our weekly program includes dance and movement classes in styles such as Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and more. We also offer creative arts options including singing, and other visual arts. 

Kids class

Our Junior class builds confidence and creativity while introducing the core techniques of Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary dance. In a fun and supportive environment, students explore movement, creativity, and choreography while developing coordination, rhythm, teamwork, and positive social connections as they learn to express themselves and create original dance routines.

Vocal Group

Our vocal group classes provide a welcoming, social space for community members to sing for fun while building confidence, developing vocal technique, and connecting with others who share a love of music. Designed for singers of all levels, these structured yet relaxed sessions encourage self-expression in a supportive environment where skills are shared and friendships are formed. Together, we’ll explore a range of songs for group singing and optional solo performances, with opportunities to showcase and celebrate your progress through our regular Karaoke events held throughout the year.

5-Week Short Course

(Two Focuses

Dance Cardio / Aerobics

Our 5-Week Short Course is perfect for anyone wanting to try something new, build skills, and gain confidence without a long-term commitment. Each month focuses on a different style or theme, such as Latin Basics, Linedance, Bellydance, Ballroom, Dance Fitness Choreography.  This keeps classes fresh, exciting, and accessible for all levels.

 

The course offers a structured yet relaxed learning environment, allowing you to progress at a comfortable pace while working towards clear, achievable goals. It’s ideal for beginners or those returning to dance, with a supportive atmosphere that encourages confidence, consistency, and enjoyment. Class passes are accepted, making it easy to fit into your schedule.

Dance Cardio / Aerobics is a high-energy, feel-good fitness class set to a fun mix of Latin and pop music. Designed to get your heart pumping while keeping things enjoyable, this class uses easy-to-follow choreography and full-body movement so it feels more like a dance party than a traditional workout. You’ll improve your cardiovascular fitness, stamina, and coordination while moving to uplifting music that boosts your mood and energy.

This class is perfect for beginners, non-dancers, or anyone looking for a welcoming and social way to stay active. With a relaxed, drop-in-friendly atmosphere and supportive instruction, you can move at your own pace, build

Monthly Classes

Currently we offer one class that is offered once a month.  Each month features a new theme, music that matches the vibe, and a chance to dance, connect, and have fun in a relaxed setting for anyone who wants to join. 

Drop-In Theme Night

(Monthly special class)

Our Drop-In Dance Night is a fun, relaxed, once-a-month class designed to bring people together through music, movement, and connection. Each month features a different theme — from Latin Party Night and Throwback Hits to Glow Night — creating a fresh, exciting atmosphere every time. Expect easy-to-follow dance routines, great music, and plenty of chances to let loose and enjoy yourself.

There’s no pressure, no expectations, and no experience required. This class is suitable for all levels and focuses on fun, self-expression, and building a strong sense of community. Whether you come with friends or on your own, you’ll leave feeling energised, confident, and connected.

Events

Join us for a Sunday Sesh on the Murray River Queen! We are so excited to help bring this FREE community event to life on Sunday, May 3rd, from 2–6 pm. From live music with One Fusion on the top deck to workshops and performances by Fit to Fly and Step By Step Together on the green, there’s something for everyone. Enjoy free food, a silent disco, line dancing, and a photo booth to capture the memories. Come soak up the river vibes with us!
